No, not a new Musing, just cleanup of the existing ones.

With the conversion of the last Stacks page (except for a couple I won't be converting), I've finally stopped breaking links by deleting and re-creating pages. So I went through all of the old Musings posts and every other page on the site to correct broken links (and there were a lot of them) and add missing ones from when I did the iWeb conversion last summer. There's no content changes, but all of the links there should be valid now.

There may still be completely missing links, particularly in other parts of the website (in fact, that's almost certain). There were many places where pages hadn't been created when I did the iWeb translation and I need to go back and find them all and insert new links. I'll hunt them down as time allows.

I have finally begun moving over the material from the old iWeb site's Construction section. In the old site, this was a blog-like chronological set of "I did this" segments. I'm restructuring this as hopefully more readable topic-oriented sections, and filling in some of what in hindsight I see as gaps.

I'd done a few of these when I first created the new site (e.g., Painting Wood and Table Construction), but now I've started moving the rest over with a page on structural construction materials. This will be followed by others.

I realized that when I'd split my electrical pages into two sections, the Electricity for Modelers general pages and the Electrical Systems sub-pages under The Model Railroad describing my own wiring, that I'd lost some of the basic info on track wiring (because it was part of one of my layout pages). So I created a new DCC Layout Power Wiring page to talk about some of the general issues.

I've converted the old iWeb page listing different kinds of freight cars and their JNR/JR nomenclature. This was overdue as it's one of my more useful reference pages, but I haven't been doing much with freight lately, and the page has a lot of Japanese phonetic letters, which makes the conversion a much slower process (I have to cut and paste them individually or the font gets messed up, one of the limitations of my software).

Well, I don't have a comment-posting system yet, but it's getting close, so I wrote up a FAQ about it. I've also made a couple of amendments to the existing "contributed content" policies related to this. I still expect to have the posting system operational by the end of the year (this year, really). The offline test version is already storing and displaying content on web pages using a MySQL database and server-side PHP, so that self-imposed deadline looks achievable. I just need to clean it up a bit, add some more features, and make sure it works with my provider (they appear to have all the features I need).

I've created a new top-level section which contains the two pages describing my 2010 and 2011 entries in the JNS Forum model-building contests (both ended with my work incomplete). These were iWeb pages I'd deferred converting due to a large number of images and a feeling they were a bit out-of-date, although looking at them now they are useful records of a couple of fairly large projects on the layout.
